Host was a tree of some kind….

I asked my brother who found this and he said it was definitely a tree, not a briar or bush.

Host needed for species identification….

Not much point in trying to identifying rusts without the host…

if it’s a rust. There is an orange rust on species of Rubus—like blackberry or black raspberry. Check out Arthuriomyces peckianus and Gymnoconia nitens.


I’m not sure. My brother gave it to me and the leaf is wilted.
