of A. praecox are apt to lose the annulus. The spores look a bit different than what is described/pictured on MushroomExpert for praecox. My own observations regarding the naming of these spring Agrocybes (as seen on MO) indicate that the name “praecox” is applied quite broadly. This is why I proposed “Agrocybe praecox group.”

that A. praecox should have? I’m not sure I even see any traces of it, sadly I’m not sure we will be able to use the key without clearer spore info and cystidia.
