Growing from the underside of a Bigleaf maple log. In situ.
Detail of stipe.
Hymenium is cream, smooth, pores not obvious.
Darker colored lower half of stipe, but I would not say black. Hymenium is fairly ribbed.

Used references: Arora, Mushrooms Demystified. This is quite a large fungus, the caps are 4-7 inches across (10-16 cm). Growing on a downed Bigleaf maple log caught in another tree and off the ground.
