Robust, solitary Amanita.

Cap is 3.5-4 inches across, umbonate, with white volva patches on cap and pieces of annulus on cap edges.
Base is cup-like; stipe conspicuously white scaled.
Annulus still just attached to cap. Cap edge is striate.
White scales above and below annulus, white gills, white stipe.
