Recognized by sight: Much broader than Evernia prunastri, but with same general characteristics. Erect foliose fruiting; thallus greenish-gray on upper surface, white and lumpy-wrinkled on lower surface. Tips are relatively small and pointed, but quickly become much larger portions of thallus. Upper surface largely covered with isidia or sorodia, or something.

Recognized by sight: I think this is just a particularly well-developed specimen, it’s an extremely variable species (as you’vem seen!)
