Observation 166222: Cortinarius (Pers.) Gray

Notes:
Several small groups found growing in close proximity in soil and shallow rooted. I have shown several images depicting different stages of maturity. The brown caps hada darker central area in all stages of maturity. The stipes were fibrous and tended in some cases to be enlarged at the base of the stipe. Also a coloured ring is evident in some of the images displaying just below the pileus. The youngest specimen shows the veil still in place. Gills tended to darker also with maturity. No immediate bruising was noticed. The Fungi were growing to a height of 4-5cm
