Small and delicate type coral fungi found growing in shaded area at the side of large decaying felled tree. The fungi was soft to touch, and growing in soil. Maybe Clavaria.

Only a few Ramariopsis species species (e.g. R. lignicola) grown on wood. Most species grow from the soil. More likely than not Petersen’s book on Clavarioid fungi of New Zealand probably has this species if you have it.
