Collection location: Blewett Pass, Chelan Co. and Kittatas Co., Washington, USA [Click for map]
Found at 4100 ft. elevation at Blewett pass summit. These were far larger and more deeply violet colored on and below outside margin than those we found here 3 weeks ago.
Found beneath charred Ponderosa pine, larch, Doug fir and Mountain Hemlock.
Temp: mid 70’s.
Massive fire occurred here during summer 2012.

We’ve been lucky to find these at the “vibrant colored stage” each visit to the burn sites this season.
