Collection location: Big Thicket National Preserve, Polk Co., Texas, USA [Click for map]
Found in the Big Sandy Creek Unit of the Big Thicket National Preserve.
Cap 4.8 cm across.
Spore print white and spores amyloid.
Spores ~ 9.2-13.0 X 5.0-6.2 microns, elongate to cylindric.
Q(range) = 1.67-2.32. Q(ave) = 1.90.
This one was lacking the strong grayish tones that I’ve seen in a couple of previous observations for A. cinereoconica.
Also the spores are longer than what I measured in an earlier obs but size and the Q values are closer to what Rod has on his website for this species.
It seems to match up pretty closely but will leave it up to Rod or others to confirm with a more confident vote.
