Observation 169067: Mixed collection

When: 2014-07-05

Collection location: Japan [Click for map]

Who: shinto

No specimen available

Notes:
I think these are all the same species, the top of the cap looked the same, but the very mature cap and stipe are different from the younger ones (including the button) they were all growing together. This mushroom is also more common in fall.

Recognized by sight: White gills, small stature, slightly bulbous base of stipe, annulus. This seems to be the second & third photos in the mix. I think if you dug the base carefully, you would possibly find the remains of a volva (cup-like structure the cap sits in).

Recognized by sight: The 1st and 4th photos (bottom) show a Lepiota, I think. I’d need to check the spore print before I commited myself to a genus here.
