This white mushroom was found growing near several others of same type, near the edge of a lawn. A few were growing singly, but nearby was a cluster of three, two one each side of a very large one (maybe 4 in wide cap).

The cap is about 3 inches across with brown specs.
The stem does not attach to the gills but to the center of the cap.
There is a ring.
They smell like button mushrooms to me.
The stem is hollow…I guess with some pinkish-brown discoloration where broken.

I can attempt to make a spore print if that’ll help with id. Wondering if this is toxic or edible. Thanks.

Spore print was light green. Gills turned green. So yes, this is C. molybdites!
