Notes:
In the middle of a moderately rustic campground with Oaks, Pines and a few Maple trees surrounding. Approximately 100’ from the Ottawa River. Mushroom found within 5’ of gravel road in campground.

Recognized by sight: Stalk looks like Russula stalks do, anyway. Something’s been nibbling at it until only a rim of cap is left, which also happens a lot with that genus. If the stalk snaps like chalk it’s Russula (unless it “bleeds” indicating Lactarius instead).
