On mossy ground under spruce, balsam fir and birch. Cap up to 18 cm, covered in small white fibers giving a velvety feel. Narrow white brittle gills. White brittle stem. Cap, gills and stem staining yellow brown. Context white, unchanging, brittle. White milk, mild tasting. Flesh very acrid. Unpleasant odor.
