Found growing scattered out of thick redwood litter.

At first I wasn’t sure what genus this was. The specimens were generally a bit on the older side and it looked like the pigments had become dissolved and flowed towards the center of the cap or been washed out of the margin.

Mike Wood suggested Pholiota.

Alas, these specimens were missing from my basket when I put my collections on the drier…no idea what happened to them. They were certainly interesting.
