I don’t think this is hemibapha in a strict sense. It certainly is in sect. Caesareae. A new paper on the Caesareae from a genetic point of view is in pre-publication at The Journal of Biogeography. In terms of geography and taxonomy, this is the broadest study of the section yet. The species concepts involved are correlated with the species concepts on the WAO website. The first author of the paper is Santiago Sanchez-Ramirez who is working in Jean-Marc Moncalvo’s lab in Ottawa.
