thin white continuous smooth thallus, prothallus lacking, thallus and apothecia all K+y C- KC~y (or just not clearing) UV- 350-375nm P~ faint yellow, fine concolorous soredia arising in superficial round discrete soralia coalescing in center into areolate sorediate crust, apothecia adnate with smooth even thalline shiny rims, disk pale to red-brown epruinose, epihymenium brown filled with very fine POL+ granules inspersing liberally into upper hymenium, amphithecium filled with fine POL+ granules clearing in K and a few large POL+ crystals insoluble in K with indistinct cortex, paraphyses apparently unbranched at least in upper parts separating easily in K but not water scarcely expanded at tips, spores 8 per ascus thick-walled broadly ellipsoid hyaline simple ~10-11×7-8um walls ~1um somewhat yellowish in K
