you’re thinking of Trametes elegans or Lenzites elegans

with which Polyporus elegans is not synonymous.

I have no species suggestion. The pores of L. elegans/T. elegans are slot-lite, not maze-like. There are a wide variety of polypores with this hymenial arrangement (see: http://mushroomobserver.org/species_list/show_species_list?id=270), and I am not particularly adept at their identification.

What SPECIES do you suggest, Myxomop?
