Observation 179585: Clitocybe sensu lato

When: 2014-07-08

Collection location: Bighorn National Forest, Wyoming, USA [Click for map]

Who: Connie (ImBooToo)

No specimen available

Notes:
The color and pattern on the cap of this mushroom reminds me of of little birds on wires that are made with what appears to be large flakes of cork.
Well I’m guessing it could be Clitocybe clavipes.
I found this and many others like it growing beneath a conifer forest canopy on the ground in July, 2014 in the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming.
I set it on a pine tree to take these photos. A rather large mushroom.
