Recognized by sight: If I call the rhizomorphs in the bottom photo conspicuous, this keys out as foveolata, which has been collected from the Bay Area a number of times. There are a lot of other ones without the conspicuous rhizomorphs that this looks like, so I am not terribly confident.

you are right,Irene! didn’t look at the first photo…there you can see two of very distinctive characters for Clitocybe: hygrophanous cap and striations as well. And considering the strong strigils on the base of the stipe I would agree for Clitocybe sp.
