The joys of lichen spot tests — some really don’t like to be tested! :)

Used roughly 10% solution of sodium hydroxide, not potassium hydroxide.

Tested on Caloplaca and Xanthoria, both K+ Red immediately. Candelaria was very hydrophobic, so difficult to get solution to set in, but no pink to red color change, just a darkened area. New photo uploaded.

Might want to verify with K test

This doesn’t look well-enough developed to be a Xanthoria, e.g., X. candelaria. But K test would remove all doubt, as Xanthoria would be K+ instant deep wine red, while Candelaria should be at most very weakly K~ pinkish.
