Laccaria seems to be the genus, and if there was eucalyptus or other trees from the Myrtle family, eg. paperbark (Melaleuca), then Laccaria fraterna is an attractive option.

What size was it? What kind/color gills, or were they blunt folds? In that case, if they’re very small, they might be Cantharellus cinnabarinus.
