but mushroom picking is verboten, and the Rangers lie in wait for scofflaws (told to my husband by a Pt. Lobos Ranger).

They will even cite you for going off trail! Be aware.

Nice shroom tho; hope you put it back in its hole! ;)

Looks like a tough environment to hunt in. Just to be on the safe side, you might consider asking for help the next time you decide to go there. I’m sure someone will volunteer to tag along.
