Observation 19945: Sticta hypochra Vainio

When: 2008-12-07

Collection location: Parque Nacional Huerquehue, Araucanía, Chile [Click for map]

Who: Jason Hollinger (jason)

No specimen available

Notes:
Found this on mossy bank in deep west-facing ravine with a small pocket of oldgrowth Valdivian rainforest.

This is probably Sticta hypochra (seems to be very common throughout southern Chile), but I’m not quite sure exactly where the cut-off in quantity of tomentum is between S. hypochra and S. longipes.
