Notes:
Volva and Veil Present, White Stipe and Gills. Growing on decaying matter in Redwood-Douglas-Fir forest. Can anyone narrow it down?

I think that I see rings of volval tissue around a slender bulb at the base of the stem.

That observation, plust the striate cap margin and the sharply truncate short gills raises the probability that this species falls in section Amanita. Too bad there is now specimen.

I think it would have been interesting to examine.
