Observation 200177: Agaricales sensu lato

Another day of amazing finds. This single group of fungi were almost completely covered, with only a tiny section of one pileus breaking the surface through forest debris. The area was open to direct sunlight. The area also had received heavy flooding rainfall in the past two days. As I uncovered the fungi, I was amazed at its condition and huge size. Another new find for me in this State Coastal Forest. Fungi possibly giant Cantharellus or Austropaxillus? (with these rather huge latest finds, I feel like I had entered into some prehistoric landscape.)hoho.
