Staining of cut context in stipe staining variably. The large one showed distinct bluing on a small portion of the lower stipe and faint pinkish stain in upper portion. Small one stained prominently red in upper stipe, but almost no blue in lower stipe until about an hour later when I noticed a little blue had developed.

Growing a couple inches apart in birch-dominated mixed woods.

KOH on surface of larger cap slightly amber slowly becoming dark to almost black.

Spores obtained from larger specimen.

Same exact spot as obs 206123.

Material from both specimens preserved for study.

Taken from the larger specimen.
