I’m wondering where you got the name Coprinellus lagopus? Do you mean Coprinopsis lagopus? If so, then I think this is not an example of that species. C. lagopus is a thin-fleshed hairy inky-cap when young but loses the hairs. This looks more like Coprinopsis variegata to me.
