Observation 21: Tremella Pers.

When: 2003-12-03

Collection location: Wilder Ridge, Humboldt Co., California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Nathan Wilson (nathan)

No specimen available

Notes:
An interesting nearly transparent jelly fungus found on a dead madrone branch. I put it in Tremella since it is clearly a jelly and this genus seemed the most appropriate. I couldn’t identify it to species with any confidence.

Heavy rains wash the pigment out. I’ve seen these that were only partially clear and partially yellow.
