Collection location: Forest near Elgin St., Pembroke, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]
Saw a few, including this one, along the “miracle mile”. This is relatively close to the “pit”, a low area full of mature jack pine with the really big recent G. esculenta observation and previous occurrences of many other kinds of fungi (last summer and fall: Amanita sp., Russula sp., Phyllotopsis nidulans, and others).
All of the G. esculenta throughout these woods are in similar condition or worse now.
