Recognized by sight: I’d have to check some references and then probably see some more closeups of features like the annulus, but I think this is a reasonable species name for this observation.

Agrocybe praecox

How silly of me. I guess I really wanted it to be an Agaricus. Right after I posted it, I noticed that the gills were attached. The spore print is cigar brown. This all fits into an Agrocybe. Also there were wood chips present in the grass it ws found in.

Agrocybe seems a lot more likely.
