Observation 21694: Cortinarius (Pers.) Gray

When: 2009-06-04

Collection location: Forest near Elgin St., Pembroke, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]

Who: Paul Derbyshire (Twizzler)

No specimen available

An agaric, one of the first few I’ve seen this year, in apparently poor shape in Zone 20. Zone 20 is the meadowy area that grew all those large amanitas last year. The trees present include quaking aspen and red, white, and jack pine. The red pines are flowering now, producing gorgeous purple clusters of cones.

The first image is just a thumbnail.
