the description just now for C. purpurea, and it all looks pretty spot on except for the stipe surface. Singer says it should be “hispid-pilose all over.” we don’t have a clear view of the stipe in the photographs uploaded so far, but from what I can see, they do not look so hairy. still, it is a pretty close match in almost every other respect.

… would lead straight to Crinipellis purpurea due to the purple colours and the elongated stipe (being three time as long as the diameter of the pileus).

Alain, thanks for the links (which in my opinion do not match with this find – see the very distant lamellae! But they remind me of other observations made in the Amazon :-)
