Observation 22186: Strobilurus diminutivus Desjardin

When: 2009-06-01

Collection location: Bassetts, Sierra Co., California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Douglas Smith (douglas)

No specimen available

Found on the inside, underside of sugar pine cones. I think I am the only person who has posted obs. of this one. I like finding it, and it is fairly easy to find really, how come no one else wants to find these?

The close up is of the largest cap, it is about 3mm high, about 2mm in diameter. I couldn’t quite get a photo of the gills, but there are gills under that cap (about 6-7 of them).
