Observation 22211: Bacidia laurocerasi subsp. idahoensis (H. Magn.) S. Ekman

Found on dead cedar twig deep in gorge of Third Canyon where it never sees sun and probably has consistently relatively humid conditions. Beautiful apothecia! The primary characteristic is the extremely long spores (70-100 µm) with over 20 septae.

Based on microscopic features: Absurdly long pluriseptate spores, biatorine apothecia with very prominent cherry-red rims until quite late in development.
