Notes:
Growing on Ulmus pumila, but present on many other trees here.

There seems to be a funny white lichen with black attachments also growing side-by-side.

you can find rhizines, quite a few actually. The yellow soredia in a couple places belong to Candelaria pacifica, note the paler yellow color. Xanthomendoza montana is strictly interior in SW N. Amer.. Xanthoria polycarpa has no rhizines. Leaves only Xanthomendoza hasseana.
