it’s being called L. lubrica

but it’s not. see the NZ Fungi page on it, where it says
“New Zealand collections with ITS sequences distinct from those of the Northern Hemisphere (Zhong & Pfister 2004)”

I was cringing at all the northern hemisphere names they apply to NZ and Aussie fungi.
A good example is Peter Johnston’s recent work on Chlorociboria in NZ. Most had been called C. aeruginosa or C. aeruginascens, neither of which occur in NZ…
instead there are Fifteen species of Chlorociboria in New Zealand, including 13 new species and one new subspecies,

so we will have to wait for the paper to be published on NZ leotia, until then it’s either Leotia sp. or L. NZ-lubica

I think this is a species of its own right

but I have no idea about Leotia species worldwide
