Large terrestrial gilled fungi
-Cap 7-8cm reddish brown center fading to brown outter edge. Flattened w/ depressed center. Cap surface mottled with compressed fibrils.
-Gill: close attached and slightly notched. choc brown color
-Stipe 7mm x4 mm. Yellow at apex becoming brown at base
-Ecology: On ground, buried deep in pine needles. Unclear what it was growing on…presuming buried wood (but could be pine or oak).
-Spore: elliptical 5×7.5um smooth print deep purple
