Observation 22966: Amanita sect. Amanita

When: 2005-01-03

Collection location: Bolinas Ridge, Marin Co., California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Ron Pastorino (Ronpast)

No specimen available

Notes:
These were found in the same spot as noted in previous Observations; http://mushroomobserver.org/22965?search_seq=571382 and http://mushroomobserver.org/22893?search_seq=571394 . While they have all been rather small, these caps were all less than 4.2cm across. The cap color is a little less orangy(but a little more than my slide scanner was willing to show) and the warts a little less distinct but I’m confident they are all the same species.
See the previous discussions about how may or may not be similar to Amanita aprica.
