Average size-pale textured pileus-bright orange stipe.

Pileus: width 60-125mm. surface uneven, textured, minutely wrinkly,
slightly velvety to the touch, pale, dull white coating over orange undertones,
centrally depressed.

Lamellae: light yellow becoming orange with maturity. broadly spaced, intermediates always present
beginning at margin of pileus and continuing 15-25% of the distance to apex of stipe,

Latex: white, not staining, not acrid, causing a slight drying sensation when applied to the
tongue, copious.

Odor: faintly sweet.

Pileus 35-70 mm long, 15-25mm thick,
dark orange with buff granular coating, solid, flesh nearly white.

Habitat: in groups, under broad-leafed trees.

Looks like a Lactarius hygrophoroides bottom with a Lactarius subpurpureus cap.
