Observation 23126: Boletus edulis Bull.

When: 2009-07-11

Collection location: Wyoming Co., Pennsylvania, USA [Click for map]

Who: Dave in NE PA

No specimen available

Weird to find B. edulis in the habitat where these two small buttons grew… a rocky piced of wooded land with a fast moving stream on one side and a runnoff gulley on the other, which seperated this “island” from the main forest. Lots of big hemlock and some Whie Pine in the main forest. But on this island mostly small birch and small sycamore, plus a few very small hemlock and one small White Pine.
