Attack by Penicillium mold?

This looks like a species of sect. Lepidella under attach (on the stem) by a Penicillium (I think) mold. If you’ve never seen a Penicillium under the scope, it’s neat. Patrick, do you have an idea of how the warts were colored before decay set in?

No, I’m sorry. This one I found in a patch of woods next to a conference center I was at for a harp conference. No specimen either, but I’ll take another look in that general area next time I visit — hopefully some time this fall.
