When: 2009-07-09

Collection location: Edgewood Blue, Wells Gray region, British Columbia, Canada [Click for map]

Who: Jason Hollinger (jason)

Specimen available

Notes:
Found in moist low birch-spruce forest near wetlands. Spore print brown. Rather solid firm flesh. It was strikingly lilac-tinged in the field, but the photos don’t seem to capture it so well. No odor or staining reaction (maybe slightly grayish slowly?)

Arora mentions H. cyanellum as having lilac-colored flesh, but describes it as having cinnamon-brown teeth.
