Observation 23305: Amanita Pers.

Found this by itself in soil beside trail in birch-dominated area of a dry forest (near the Flatiron Trail trailhead). Cap smooth and dry with no sign of universal veil remnants. No sign of partial veil, either. Volval sac somewhat delicate. Spores measure roughly:

(10)12+/-0.9(13) x (7.6)10+/-1.5(12) µm
Q = (1.0)1.1+/-0.1(1.4)
