Observation 23369: Laccaria Berk. & Broome

When: 2009-07-20

Collection location: Forest near Elgin St., Pembroke, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]

Who: Paul Derbyshire (Twizzler)

These were growing right in the middle of a path in Zone 45. The path in question is a short one that joins two longer ones; a path enters the woods via Zone 46, divides in two about 50m into Zone 45, and some distance further along this short cross-trail joins them. It gets little traffic, so the mushrooms didn’t get trampled, but in my thoroughness I checked it out and was rewarded, though with much more than just these little laccarias.

Species Lists

Camera didn’t quite do justice to the gill color I’m afraid; it was more very pale lilac than the pale pink shown here.
