Observation 235430: Tubaria furfuracea group

When: 2016-02-29

Collection location: Elgin, Illinois, USA [Click for map]

Who: Katherine Collins (iluvmyshrooms)

Specimen available

Found in wood chips. Smells earthy. Mostly adnate lamellae some notched. Some forking of gills. White powdery substance on cap of some. Caps quite hygrophanous. Hollow stipe. Medium light rusty orange spore prints. Found in one in fairy ring in one instance as well. Photos taken after rain don’t show powdery substance on margin, but it was seen. At first I thought it was mold so didn’t photograph it.
