Pink gills (which turn brownish pink with age) found under a fir tree in soil rich with needles and woody debris.
This mushroom was observed to stain red (not without yellowish hues) when the base was cut, as well as when the cap was rubbed.
Found in early spring, growing in a small cluster. Mushroom caps are white andlĺ had dirty scales that varried in size depending on maturity of specimen..

A light earthy smell was detected from the base of the stem when cut.

These mushrooms left a brown print.
