Observation 23762: Suillus Gray

When: 2009-07-31

Collection location: Forest near Elgin St., Pembroke, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]

Who: Paul Derbyshire (Twizzler)

No specimen available

Notes:
This thing’s stipe is fascinating. At full size, the stipe photo clearly shows little (<1mm) cavities in the surface of the stipe, as well as drops of a brownish exudate. The stipe base, too, is interesting, with a buried whitish club-foot attached to dirt and pine needles, similar to the stipe bases of those unidentified trichs.

Found in Zone 05 scattered. Silver dollar sized caps, flat and somewhat streaked; smallish yellow pores.
