sometimes 2-3 acceptable Latin name for all the fungi=) Interestingly, Mycobank lists both but doesn’t indicate a “preferred” synonym. Think I’ll go back to Puccinia because that’s the name I originally learned and the one everyone around here uses. Thanks for responding to my question.

Rust fungi are not my specialty. Index fungorum still has Puccinia as the preferred name. They are synonyms so either name is OK.

the Allodus and Puccinia genera interchangeably? I have been using Allodus since someone (I don’t remember who) changed an ob. of mine a year or so ago. Is one synonym preferred over the other? THNX
