Observation 237728: Cortinarius distans Peck

Notes:
A small group fruiting in the ground near the base of a tree in Oak-Hickory woods. Orangish-brown grainy/fibrillose caps with distant, notched gills that become cinnamon-brown when spores drop. Traces of an ephemeral cortina can be seen in second photo (specimen on right). White mycelium at base of stipe. Could not get spore print from these old-ish specimens but did get dark reddish reaction to KOH on cap (see last image)
