Observation 23789: Laccaria Berk. & Broome

When: 2009-07-31

Collection location: Forest near Elgin St., Pembroke, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]

Who: Paul Derbyshire (Twizzler)

No specimen available

Not completely sure what this is. It’s a very pale pink, with some powdery white on the cap, more toward the margin. Convex cap but decurrent pinkish gills. Cross section shows fibrous stem innards and no latex, ruling out Lactarius. Maybe Laccaria?

Whatever it is, it was found in Zone 12 on a hill slope.
